SB2360 amends Tennessee Code to modify provisions regarding garagekeepers' liens on motor vehicles.
SB2360 amends Tennessee Code to change the conditions under which a garagekeeper can store a motor vehicle without express written authorization. It allows a garagekeeper to store a vehicle without such authorization if they make a good faith attempt to acquire consent and notify the owner by certified mail. The garagekeeper can enforce a lien after 30 days if no return receipt is received. The changes also apply to vehicles towed for repairs if the owner authorized the repairs and has been notified of their completion.
