SB2304

Tennessee Fluoride-Free Water Act aims to protect residents by ensuring access to fluoride-free drinking water.

The Tennessee Fluoride-Free Water Act prohibits the addition of fluoride to drinking water and mandates that bottled water containing naturally occurring fluoride exceeding 0.7 mg/L be clearly labeled. Public water systems must take corrective action if fluoride levels exceed the EPA's maximum contaminant level goal. Violations of these provisions are subject to civil penalties, with specific penalties outlined for different types of violations. The act also includes provisions for enforcement and the payment of collected penalties into the state's general fund.
