Draft Text

Tennessee SB2261 mandates nonprofit organizations receiving state or federal grants to publish employee salaries publicly.

Tennessee SB2261 requires nonprofit organizations that operate in the state and receive state or federal grants to compile, maintain, and publish the salary of each employee in a publicly accessible location. If the nonprofit has a publicly accessible website, the salary information must be published there. The organization must update this information at least every six months. A person who believes a nonprofit has violated this requirement can bring a cause of action in court, which may order injunctive relief and award reasonable court costs and attorney fees to the prevailing party.
