Introduced·2/2/26
Draft Text

SB2216 amends Tennessee Code to update public safety employee reporting and participation in employee assistance programs.

SB2216 revises Tennessee Code to modify how public safety employees are reported and their access to employee assistance programs. It removes references to the Tennessee Fire Incident Reporting System and certified mail for certain reports. It also updates the definition of full-time employees to include part-time employees. Additionally, it mandates that fire departments submit membership lists to the state fire marshal's office and requires the state to cover costs for mental health and wellness services for volunteer firefighters and members of combination fire departments.
