SB2188 amends Tennessee education funding apportionment rules for counties with public virtual schools.

SB2188 modifies Tennessee Code to change how education funding is apportioned in counties with local education agencies that have established public virtual schools. It specifies that funds, excluding those from local special student transportation tax levies, must be distributed based on the weighted full-time equivalent average daily attendance (WFTEADA) of each LEA. The bill defines WFTEADA as the number of students in a county multiplied by the cost differential for a program. This act takes effect July 1, 2026.
