SB2150 amends Tennessee law to require registration of new private residence elevators and notification of ownership changes.

SB2150 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 68, Chapter 121, to introduce new requirements for private residence elevators. Effective July 1, 2027, all newly constructed and accepted private residence elevators must be registered with the department within seven days of being placed in service. Additionally, upon the conveyance of the real property on which a private residence elevator is located, the new owner must notify the department of the change in ownership within sixty days of the date of conveyance.
