Tennessee SB2090 amends education laws to ensure private schools receiving public funds provide civic education.

Tennessee SB2090 amends education laws to ensure private schools receiving public funds provide civic education. Schools must designate time for students to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, provide age-appropriate civics and American history instruction, and allow military recruiters on campus. Schools must not include or promote certain concepts or foreign laws that violate constitutional rights. The act applies to the 2026-2027 school year and each year thereafter.
