Introduced·1/22/26

Tennessee SB2080 amends TennCare reimbursement rules, using tax revenue to draw down federal funds for healthcare providers.

Tennessee SB2080 amends TennCare reimbursement rules, effective July 1, 2026. It mandates that the first $150 million of tax revenue collected must be used to draw down federal funds for reimbursing physicians, advanced practice registered nurses, and physician assistants for specific services. These services include evaluation and management, obstetrics and gynecology, and anesthesia. Reimbursement rates are set at up to 110% of the current Medicare rate. The Bureau of TennCare and the Department of Commerce and Insurance are tasked with promulgating rules to implement these changes.
