The Tennessee K-9 Emergency Medical Care and Transport Act amends Tennessee Code to allow emergency medical services personnel to transport and provide emergency care to specially trained canine first responders injured in the line of duty. This includes dogs trained for police, military, or patrol work; detection work; or search-and-rescue. The act also establishes immunity from criminal and civil liability for emergency medical services personnel and the board of veterinary medical examiners in relation to the care provided to injured canine first responders.
