Introduced·1/22/26
Draft Text

SB2037 amends Tennessee law to require non-lawful residents to register and interview with the Department of Safety for a one-year visa.

SB2037 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4, Title 8, and Title 39 to implement the "One America Act." It mandates that individuals who have resided in Tennessee for over thirty days and are not lawfully present in the United States must register with the Department of Safety and undergo an interview. The Department of Safety will then determine eligibility for a one-year visa for re-entry into the United States and Tennessee. If eligible, the individual must leave the United States within ninety days and remain outside for at least thirty days before using the visa to re-enter.
