Tennessee SB2021 amends food assistance rules for inmates preparing for release from state correctional institutions.

Tennessee SB2021 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 41 and Title 71, to modify food assistance rules for inmates. The commissioner of human services must provide the commissioner of correction with a food assistance application form for inmates. This form must include options for inmates to decline food assistance and indicate reasons for declining, with the option to do so anonymously. The department of correction must distribute these forms to inmates preparing for release, collect completed applications, and return them to the department of human services.
