SB1967 expands career readiness assessments to all high school students and allows credits for nationally recognized assessments.

SB1967 amends Tennessee Code to expand the scope of career readiness assessments to all students in grades nine through twelve, rather than just high school seniors. It also mandates that the board of regents establish a framework for institutions to provide transcribable credit for credentials earned on nationally recognized career readiness assessments, which can be applied toward postsecondary degrees. This act takes effect July 1, 2026.
