Tennessee SB1925 grants special leave to foster parents and kinship caregivers for court and counseling sessions related to foster children.
Tennessee SB1925 amends Tennessee Code to provide special leave for eligible employees who are foster parents or kinship caregivers. This leave allows them to attend court or counseling sessions regarding the placement of a foster child. The leave does not count against their sick, annual, or other leave balances. Eligible employees include those who have been employed full-time with the state for at least twelve consecutive months with certain state entities. The leave granted under this act also counts toward the leave required under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act and state law.
