Tennessee SB1913 amends laws to allow law enforcement to impound vehicles used in drag racing for up to 72 hours pending review.

Tennessee SB1913 amends Tennessee Code to allow POST-certified or state-commissioned law enforcement officers to impound vehicles used in drag racing for up to 72 hours. The owner must be notified and can request a hearing. If probable cause is not substantiated, fees are reimbursed or the vehicle is released. This does not affect other seizure and forfeiture laws. The act takes effect July 1, 2026.
