SB1899 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, to modify the procedures for appointing and confirming presidents and chief executive officers of state institutions. The bill specifies that any president of the University of Tennessee system appointed on or after July 1, 2026, must be confirmed by both the Senate and House of Representatives. If either house fails to confirm the appointment within 90 days after the General Assembly convenes in regular session, the president's employment is terminated.
