Exempts certain religious and civic organizations from food safety regulations.
This bill amends Tennessee food safety regulations to exempt certain religious and civic organizations from food service establishment requirements. Specifically, it excludes churches, temples, synagogues, and other religious institutions, as well as civic, fraternal, and veteran's organizations where food is handled by volunteers. However, the exemption does not apply to the storage of unopened, commercially canned food, packaged bulk food that is not potentially hazardous, and dry goods. The changes take effect immediately upon the act becoming law.
