SB1772 allows law enforcement agencies to enforce traffic laws on private roadways within West Tennessee megasites.

SB1772 amends Tennessee Code to allow the authority and local law enforcement agencies to enforce traffic laws on designated private roadways within megasites. These roadways are considered "highways" for enforcement purposes. The law requires agreements between the authority and local law enforcement, which must include a legal description or map of the roadways, require notice of enforcement at each entrance, and specify the term and termination rights. Sworn peace officers can patrol, enforce laws, issue citations, and impose fines.
