Tennessee SB1744 amends the Tennessee Code to allow the peace officer standards and training commission to issue a certificate of compliance to retired law enforcement officers. To qualify, former officers must complete an approved recruit training program, stay current with annual in-service training, provide a letter of good standing from their former agency, prove residency in Tennessee, and pay any associated fees. The commission can create rules to implement these changes.
