SB1722

AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 56, Chapter 7, Part 23, relative to medical laboratories.

Introduced·1/15/26

Tennessee SB1722 amends medical laboratory fee schedules to ensure non-network labs meet performance metrics for reimbursement.

Tennessee SB1722 amends the state's medical laboratory fee schedule to allow managed health insurance issuers to require non-network medical laboratories to meet the same performance metrics as in-network labs to receive reimbursement. The bill also prevents insurers from denying licensed labs the right to participate in policies, contracts, or plans on the same terms as other labs. The changes take effect July 1, 2026.
