SB1717 amends Tennessee law to make it an offense to violate a no contact order related to domestic abuse.

SB1717 amends Tennessee Code to establish that knowingly violating a no contact order, whether issued prior to release on bond or as part of a sentence, probation, or parole, is an offense when the alleged victim is a domestic abuse victim. The bill also modifies the conditions under which a person can be arrested for violating a no contact order. This act takes effect July 1, 2026.
