SB1703

SB1703 amends Tennessee law to define a dependent and neglected child as one whose parent or guardian cannot provide care due to uncontrollable.

SB1703 introduces a new definition for a dependent and neglected child in Tennessee, specifying that such a child is one whose parent or guardian cannot provide care and control due to circumstances beyond their control. The bill mandates that a court must hold an adjudicatory hearing to determine if the parent or guardian's inability to provide care is due to uncontrollable circumstances. This act becomes effective immediately upon becoming law.
