Tennessee SB1683, known as the Tennessee Child Care Hosting Safe Harbor Act, amends state law to protect employers and host entities from liability in civil actions for damages caused by licensed child care providers. This protection applies unless the employer or host entity's gross negligence or willful misconduct is the cause. The act does not cover situations where the employer or host entity operates, controls, or manages the child care provider, is licensed as a child care provider, or employs, supervises, or directs the provider's staff. The act takes effect July 1, 2026.
