Tennessee SB1633 mandates consecutive sentencing for defendants convicted of two or more offenses involving minor victims.

Tennessee SB1633 amends the state's criminal code to require consecutive sentencing for defendants convicted of two or more offenses involving minor victims, regardless of whether the offenses were part of a single criminal episode. This change applies to offenses committed on or after July 1, 2026. The court may opt for concurrent sentences only if it finds by a preponderance of the evidence that consecutive sentences are not warranted and would not be in the best interest of justice.
