Waives tuition and fees for dependent children of law enforcement officers or firefighters killed in the line of duty.

This bill amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, to provide a waiver of tuition, maintenance fees, student activity fees, and registration fees for dependent children of law enforcement officers or firefighters killed in the line of duty. The waiver applies to full-time students at public institutions of higher education who are under 23 years old. Once eligible, students remain eligible until they earn an undergraduate degree, complete 135 semester hours, or attempt 150 semester hours. The waiver does not apply to previously paid tuition and fees.
