Tennessee SB1580 amends the Tennessee Code to prohibit the advertisement or representation of artificial intelligence systems as qualified mental health professionals. This act adds a new section to Title 33, which specifies that such advertising constitutes a violation of the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act of 1977. Violators face a civil penalty of $5,000 per violation, in addition to other penalties and remedies provided by the Consumer Protection Act. The act takes effect July 1, 2026.
