This bill requires district attorneys general to report to multiple officials when taking specific actions on felony offenses resulting from.

This bill amends Tennessee law to require district attorneys general in judicial districts where Operation Viper or the Memphis Safe Task Force is active to submit reports to the attorney general, legislative leaders, and other officials when they enter into a plea agreement, lower the charged offense, or decline to prosecute a felony offense. These reports must be submitted within 24 hours of the action. The bill defines Operation Viper and the Memphis Safe Task Force as federal and state law enforcement initiatives aimed at combating crime.
