Tennessee SB1411 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 39 and Title 49, Chapter 6, to define "educational employee" as a person employed by a school and "school" as any public or private institution providing classes from kindergarten through grade twelve (K-12). The bill establishes that assault against an educational employee, defined as knowingly causing bodily injury while the employee is performing their duties, is a Class E felony. This applies to incidents occurring on school grounds, at school-sponsored activities, on school-provided transportation, or at official school bus stops.
