Tennessee SB1255 requires the Department of Health to make blood lead level testing available for all children before they attend public schools serving pre-K-12 students. If a child has elevated blood lead levels, they must be screened for educational services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The bill also mandates testing for pregnant women who receive vouchers for the Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children.
