Tennessee SB1189 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 39; Title 63 and Title 68, relative to abortion. It defines "abortion" as the use of an instrument, medicine, drug, or another substance or device with intent to terminate a pregnancy, except for certain medical purposes. It also defines "pregnancy" as the point when there is a reasonable likelihood of the fetus's sustained survival outside the uterus without extraordinary medical measures.
