SB1058 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 44 and Title 58, concerning animals. It removes an outdated provision and updates indemnity procedures for animals destroyed under the authority of this chapter. The commissioner is now required to establish rules for indemnity payments, based on the animal's value and fund availability. Additionally, the commissioner can recommend or order tests and vaccinations for animals within or imported into the state, provided they have prior approval from the joint government operations committee. The act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
