SB1022 amends Tennessee law to expand the definition of "law enforcement officer" to include additional personnel.

SB1022 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 39, Chapter 13, Part 1, to broaden the definition of "law enforcement officer" to include POST-certified law enforcement officers, capitol police officers, Tennessee highway patrol officers, Tennessee bureau of investigation agents, Tennessee wildlife resources agency officers, deputy jailers, correctional officers, probation or parole officers, probation providers, and park rangers employed by the division of parks and recreation in the department of environment and conservation. This act takes effect July 1, 2025.
