Amends Tennessee Code to prohibit members of state university boards from serving on other higher education boards.
This bill amends Tennessee Code to change the composition of governing boards of institutions of higher education. Specifically, it prohibits members of a state university board from also serving on the governing board of another institution of higher education. If a board member is found to be serving on another board when the act takes effect, their seat on the state university board is vacated. The appropriate appointing authority will fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term. The changes take effect upon the act becoming law.
