SB0875 amends Tennessee Code to ensure equitable allocation of funds to counties and municipalities based on certified population data.

SB0875 amends various sections of Tennessee Code to ensure that the allocation and distribution of funds to counties and municipalities are based on certified population data. The Department of Economic and Community Development must revise and certify population data annually, except in years of special or decennial federal censuses. The Boyd Center for Business and Economic Research generates annual population estimates for review and certification by the Department of Economic and Community Development. This act takes effect January 1, 2026.
