Tennessee SB0869 modifies Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 70, to regulate the use of bait in hunting practices. It prohibits the use of certain devices and substances for hunting unless a bait privilege license is obtained. Exceptions are made for using spot, electric, or torch lights for hunting raccoons, opossums, and frogs, and for using box traps for rabbits during the open shooting season. The act also allows the use of chemicals, biological substances, poisons, or devices to control wildlife populations for scientific, propagating, enforcement, humane, or rescue purposes.
