Amends Tennessee law to require special deputies to meet police officer qualifications and training.
This bill amends Tennessee law to require the commission to issue a certificate of compliance to a person appointed as a special deputy. The person must meet the qualifications for employment as a police officer and complete an approved recruit training program. To retain this certification, the special deputy must also complete an annual in-service training session appropriate for their responsibilities. This act takes effect upon becoming a law.
