Amends Tennessee law to require final acceptance inspections and registration of private residence elevators.
The bill amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 68, Chapter 121, to mandate that the chief elevator inspector conduct a final acceptance inspection of private residence elevators upon installation, modification, or alteration before they are placed in service. Homeowners must then register the elevators with the department using a form provided by the department. The chief elevator inspector is also required to develop and maintain a database of these private residence elevators. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2025.
