The bill amends Tennessee Code to encourage state agencies to include a provision in requests for proposals for state construction contracts. This provision asks if contractors, subcontractors, or anyone else employed on the project will use apprentices from a certified or registered apprenticeship program. The bill also encourages contractors to employ apprentices on projects valued at $1 million or more. The changes take effect November 1, 2026.
