Introduced·2/4/25

Tennessee SB0735 amends laws to ensure just compensation for outdoor advertising devices removed by governmental agencies.

Tennessee SB0735 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 29, Chapter 16 and Section 54-21-107, to ensure just compensation for outdoor advertising devices removed by governmental agencies. The bill mandates that if a political subdivision or other governmental agency requires the removal of a lawfully erected outdoor advertising device without the option to relocate it, the owner must be compensated for the cost of removal plus the fair market value of the device. The compensation must be paid regardless of the reason for removal, including under § 54-21-105.
