Tennessee SB0695 creates a school safety alert grant program to provide funds for LEAs, public charter schools, private schools, and church-related schools to purchase mobile panic alert systems. The program, initially a pilot, will be renamed the school safety alert grant program effective July 1, 2025. Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to different grand divisions of the state. Each school can receive up to $8,000 per fiscal year. The program will cease on July 1, 2027.
