SB0650 modifies Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4 and Title 71, concerning TennCare. It removes the requirement that medical necessity decisions must be the least costly alternative, except as specified. The bill mandates that the bureau consider a patient's overall condition, including mobility, cognitive awareness, need for nursing supervision, and use of life-sustaining equipment, when determining funding levels and medical services. This act takes effect July 1, 2025.
