Tennessee SB0591 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 39, to establish that anyone who recklessly threatens to commit an act of mass violence against a child care agency, preschool, or religious institution using any means of communication commits a Class E felony. This provision does not apply to individuals with intellectual disabilities. The bill also mandates that anyone aware of such threats must report them to local law enforcement and the affected institution. Failure to report a known threat is a Class B misdemeanor.
