SB0550 revises the appointment process for the medical cannabis commission in Tennessee. The speaker of the senate must now appoint three members: one physician licensed under title 63, chapter 6 or 9; one pharmacist licensed under title 63, chapter 10; and one specialist in substance abuse prevention. The speaker selects the substance abuse specialist from a list of three names submitted by the Prevention Alliance of Tennessee. This act takes effect on July 1, 2025.
