Tennessee SB0476 amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, to change student nutrition regulations. Beginning August 1, 2027, local educational agencies and public charter schools must prohibit the sale, offer for sale, or provision of food or beverage items containing Allura Red AC (Red 40) on school property, including through vending machines or the school nutrition program. Exceptions are made for items sold as part of a school fundraising event. This act takes effect upon becoming law.
