The Women's Safety and Protection Act requires that restrooms, changing rooms, and sleeping quarters in correctional facilities, juvenile detention facilities, domestic violence shelters, and public schools be designated for the exclusive use of either females, males, or members of the same family. It prohibits individuals from entering facilities designated for the opposite sex unless under specific circumstances such as performing custodial services, rendering medical assistance, or during emergencies.
