Amends Tennessee law to clarify which courts can issue orders of protection.

The bill amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 16; Title 18 and Title 36 to specify that orders of protection can be issued by the general sessions criminal court or a criminal court when the criminal court is hearing a criminal matter involving a domestic abuse victim, sexual assault victim, or stalking victim. It also clarifies that these orders can be issued by the criminal court or the general sessions court. The changes take effect immediately upon becoming law.
