Tennessee SB0312 amends state law to provide guidance on how the Department of Children's Services should manage federal funds for children in its care. The bill specifies that the department must conserve these funds for the child's future needs or for special needs services not otherwise provided. It also allows the department to use a portion of interest earnings to offset administrative costs, but prohibits using the funds to reimburse the department for the costs of caring for the child. The act takes effect July 1, 2025.
