Tennessee SB0296 amends laws to allow impounding vehicles with license plate flippers and holds owners responsible for towing and removal costs.
Tennessee SB0296 amends Tennessee Code to allow law enforcement to seize or impound vehicles found with installed license plate flippers as evidence. If the flipper can be safely removed, the owner or operator must be given the chance to remove it. If the flipper is removed, only it can be seized as contraband. If the vehicle is impounded, the owner must pay towing and impounding fees plus the cost to remove the flipper. This act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
