AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 10, Chapter 7 and Title 49, relative to incentives for students who obtain testing for certain health conditions.

Failed·1/21/26

Establishes grants for Tennessee students who get tested for sexually transmitted diseases.

The bill amends Tennessee law to create a grant program for full-time undergraduate students at public institutions who voluntarily get tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) will implement the program, awarding grants of $250 each for tuition, fees, textbooks, and course materials. Grants are limited to one per academic year for up to four years. THEC must develop a grant application process that complies with federal and state confidentiality laws.
