Tennessee SB0041 amends consumer billing laws to limit billing for terminated services.

Tennessee SB0041 amends Tennessee Code to regulate billing practices for consumers who terminate services like telephone, cable, internet, or broadband. If a consumer ends their service agreement within the first half of a billing cycle, the service provider can only bill for the remainder of that cycle. If the termination occurs in the second half, the provider can bill for the remainder of that cycle and one subsequent cycle. This act takes effect July 1, 2025.
