Tennessee SB0008, the Fairness in Benefits Act, amends Tennessee Code to allow employers participating in the Tennessee consolidated retirement system to disseminate information about private retirement plans and supplemental benefits to employees. This information can be shared outside of official duty hours through direct contact with private entity representatives. The alternative retirement plans must meet the functional equivalent of qualified retirement plans under the Internal Revenue Code. The act takes effect upon becoming law.
